Applications Engineer
Kendra from HR reached out to me on Indeed to ask me to apply. I then had four Interviews. Three Video Calls - HR Interview, Direct Manager, Team Interview. Final interview was an in person lunch and facility tour. The HR team was on top of the entire process, and always let me know next steps in a timely manner. The best and most thorough interview process I have been through to date. Everyone I spoke to was knowledgeable and accommodating.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- How do you see your previous experience applying to this specific role?
Strategic Account Manager
Sundyne seems to always be hiring and posting jobs they don't actually fill on the connecting Colorado site. If you've got time to kill and don't mind the reviews mentioning huge management turnover, go for it! Nobody showed up for my first interview and they were late for the rescheduled one. I'm guessing there are serious HR issues, and the executive leadership is out of touch.
- How comfortable are you working in an environment that is constantly changing?
Financial Analyst
Applied online. Recruiter reached out a week later and sent me straight to the hiring manager. Interviewed with the hiring manager for about 30 mins. She didn't seem very prepared, but told me a lot about the position. I had lots of questions, but unfortunately, she had to go. Surprise at the end of our 30 minutes: another interview with their controller guy. I wasn't aware this person was going to interview me. Ok. I jumped in for another 45 minutes. The controller guy was pretty direct. For some reason focused on my experience from 8 years ago. Seriously inquired about why I left a position I held 8 years ago and transitioned to a different company. Actually, he really focused on employment history and consistency, even stating that he doesn't want candidates to get hired and then leave in a year. This is a potential red flag that their finance/accounting department has a high turnover rate and they can't keep their analysts for long. This correlates well with some review on Glassdoor and Indeed. I would be very careful with them. Finally, the guy mentioned that the position I was interviewing for doesn't really interact with him or his team (I directly asked that as it made sense). Why was he interviewing at all? Overall, it looks like they pay serious attention to candidates' work history and its consistency. Then they drill down to your specific experience. For that financial analyst role they wanted someone with financial analysis, accounting and data science experience. But at the end of the interview, I actually had more questions then before. Probably great idea to stay away from them.
- Could you explain your reasons for leaving your previous roles?
- What is your proficiency level with Excel?
- Are you familiar with using XLOOKUP in Excel?
Mechanical Designer
I had one phone call with a third-party recruiter. It was about 30 minutes. Afterwards, my recruiter told me Sundyne wanted to hire me for a 3-month contract-to-hire role. The interview was pretty standard: started with 'Tell me about yourself,' the hiring manager talked about the job and the team, and it finished with asking if I had questions.
- How do your previous experiences align with the responsibilities of this role?
- Do you have any further questions regarding the company or the role?
