The communication was fast, with good conversations where expected questions were asked. Overall, very satisfied with how the procedure went. The tests at the end were quite a lot and probably not necessary.

So for the Maumee, OH site I did a phone screening with a recruiter, then a virtual panel interview with the hiring manager and his boss, with the final step being an on-site panel with the leadership team. I found the virtual panel to be off-putting since the higher up kept talking about how many good candidates, the number of them, etc. When I went on-site they didn't ask me a lot of questions, it was mostly a tour. During the on-site panel the higher up asked me if I'd be willing to relocate to their other site since the same role there did not get as many applicants since it was in Chicago and I am assuming the unadjusted pay wouldn't be good for there. I said no. How insulting. It felt like a bait and switch. In about a week, they told me they were not going to hire me. Then they continued to repost the job for months. What a waste of someone's time. A candidate doesn't want to hear you gloat about how many candidates you have apply, like that's an accomplishment? We also don't want to be asked to relocate when we are interviewing for a site near us!

I had an initial chat with the recruiter and the HR director. It was pretty easy and went well. After that, I had a second interview with the local HR person or manager. Both chats were pretty straightforward, mostly about going over my CV and past work, and also talking about some hypothetical situations. What's disappointing is that it's been two weeks since that second interview, and I still haven't heard anything back. It's really baffling how companies can just go silent after multiple interview rounds. It’s important to remember that how a company treats candidates is part of their brand. At the very least, someone who spent time talking to your team and preparing for interviews should get a response, even if it's a rejection.

Got a call from HR after applying online. They set up a phone chat for later that week. The interview felt really weird; like, the second thing they asked was about my salary I had listed online. They said it was too much money and I mentioned it was negotiable, but then there was just a long, weird silence. I don't know what they were going for, seemed like they were trying to pressure me into saying a super low number. Anyway, I wouldn't even bother with a company that tries to negotiate salary as the second question.
