Sales Representative
I was contacted by a recruiter or associate, we had a great conversation, then I had a Zoom interview with the assistant talent manager, I believe. That was positive and made me excited to join the company in their mission. Next, I had a Zoom interview with the director of the company. He was extremely supportive and polite. He made me feel like I was valued and respected. They all recognized my level of experience and noticed my talent and skills. I was made to feel that I was a great fit for the position and I could grow with the company.
- Tell me about your experience in product sales and marketing.

They got back to me pretty fast, within 2 days of applying. First was a phone interview, which was professional. They let me know it's a base pay + commission role. The second interview was supposed to be at a BJ's 30 mins away, but on the day, they called and asked me to go to one 70 mins away. I was annoyed but went. Honestly, it feels like a scam. You get base pay, but commission is only added if it's more than the base pay. I think you might even lose money if commission is low! To make commission, you'd have to sell a lot of stuff people don't need. It's basically 10 hours a day in a BJ's trying to push sales. The interview was just basic questions about my background, then I had to watch a long demo. They also said I'd have to travel within 40 miles of home with no mileage reimbursement. It just wasn't for me. I did get an offer a few days later, but I declined. They seem to hire quickly and anyone with sales/retail experience. My advice is to find a better company, even if it takes longer.
- Would you be okay with traveling up to 40 miles from your home for this job, given that there's no mileage reimbursement?
Brand Representative
The interview process at Summit Retail Solutions was smooth and well-organized. It started with an initial phone call where I spoke with a recruiter about my background and career goals. After that, I was invited to a Zoom meeting that gave me the chance to learn more about the company, the role, and the team culture. The final step was a follow-up phone call to discuss next steps and answer any remaining questions. Overall, the process was straightforward, professional, and moved quickly. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, transparent, and genuinely interested in finding a good fit for both the company and the candidate.
- How would you manage difficult customer interactions?
Brand Representative
It was a really professional and thorough interview process with multiple steps. They were precise about expectations and scheduling. The managers were professional, friendly, and engaging. They gave clear directions for each interview you had to attend. Make sure to bring your resume and have questions ready. The first interview was a phone call where I learned more about the job, what's expected, and the benefits, plus I got to ask my questions. It was good to learn about the company without the pressure of an in-person meeting for the first round!
- Can you talk about advancing in this company and how you would achieve that?
- What are your thoughts on career progression here and how you'd make it happen?
