Software Engineer
The interview order was a bit different than usual. It started with HR, then a technical interview, followed by an online assessment, and finally a presentation. A heads-up, all the interviewers were about 15 minutes late, which felt pretty unprofessional and disrespectful. The last part, the presentation, actually included a technical discussion, which felt like a repeat of the earlier technical interview. Also, the interviewer during the presentation part was kind of unfriendly and didn't really let me ask any questions at the end.
- Were you asked about system design concepts such as queues, locks, and authentication?

The interview process was smooth, the managers were professional, helpful and welcoming. The questions weren't that hard either. The frustrating thing is the length of the whole process. 2 assessments, 2 technical interviews, and then the presentation. And yet after all of that, you still get rejected. All I'm saying is that a good recruiter should know, from the start, when a candidate is suitable enough. Not put him through this whole tedious lengthy process all for a rejection! Plus some of the questions of the presentation step was too advanced for a fresh grad (whom this position was meant for). When the fresh grad gets hired, he/she will learn the answer to some of those questions, but don't expect them to know all of this beforehand! The least they can do is to give a personalized feedback and to make a smarter recruitment process, not difficult for no reason
- Can you explain binary tree traversal algorithms?
- What are your thoughts on hashmaps?

The whole interview thing was super quick and really nice. Started April 9th, got the offer April 30th, even with holidays in there. It felt long but they got back to you fast. First was an HR screening call, the person was cool and helpful. Then I had some tests: English, IQ, math stuff, and two coding problems kinda like Leetcode (easy-medium). After that, I talked to the Engineering Manager for a technical interview. He was professional and friendly, asked about data structures and core Java stuff, kept it professional but not stressful. The last step was a presentation to the CTO. He was also really nice, and it felt more like a chat about tech than a strict presentation. There was a Q&A part where they wanted to see how I think through problems, no real right or wrong answers. Each stage took about 3-4 days before I heard back. Each step got more technical, really pushing my knowledge and fundamentals. The pay for associate roles is really good, supposed to keep people motivated.
