Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sumerge.
Business Analyst
The interview process was smooth and professional, more discussion and problem-solving focused than Q&A. It felt like a senior-level conversation, with interviewers interested in my thinking, problem structuring, and linking analysis to business impact. Topics were real-life scenarios, stakeholder management, and decision-making, not theory. Atmosphere was respectful and collaborative, a positive and engaging experience.
- What's your approach to ambiguous business problems?
- How do you gather and prioritize requirements from multiple stakeholders?
- How do you translate business needs into structured, actionable outputs?
Business Analyst
It took over a month to finish the 5 steps of the interview process. First, I applied on LinkedIn. Then, I got a test on Gorilla Tests to complete, which was mostly just questions about myself. After that, there were three video questions, followed by the HR interview, then the technical interview, and finally an interview with the CTO.
- What is your understanding of Sumerge?
- How do you perceive the role of a Business Analyst within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)?
Business Analyst
The interview process was very organized and HR was responsive. I'd say the difficulty was medium. It went like this: phone interview, then an HR interview, followed by a technical interview, and finally a presentation. The whole thing took about a month.
- Could you explain the principles of Agile?
