First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sulzer.
Mechanical Design Engineer
Got a call from the company for resume shortlist. After a few days, my resume was selected and I was called for a face-to-face technical interview. Then a CAD test was organized, and after that, the technical interview was scheduled. After clearing that interview, I had a call for a final discussion with HR about salary and some company policies.
- Can you explain the basic laws of fluid mechanics?
- How do you perform weight calculations?
- What is involved in BOM preparation?
Mechanical Engineer
Super competitive. If you get an interview, expect the usual behavioral and get-to-know-you questions. If you pass that, you'll be invited for an intern day, which is the last step before hearing back. This day involves learning about the company culture and history, with chances to have short interviews with supervisors from different divisions. There will also be team-building activities. About 10 interns are selected for the summer.
- What makes you the best choice among the applicants?
Mechanical Engineer
The interview was great, very interactive and detail-oriented. The interviewer explained the work and work culture and asked about the whole life cycle of the project that I followed in my current job and was very open and interactive through the interview.
