The interview started great with a warm and clear recruiter call that made me excited about the role and company. However, after that, communication from the CS team was poor. I was told I was progressing but then had to follow up myself to get any updates. The home assessment lacked context, and I had to research the company website extensively to understand what was expected. This made me question how many good candidates might be filtered out. Only the initial recruiter call felt personal; the rest of the process felt unstructured and impersonal. My advice is to improve follow-up communication and provide clearer instructions for assessments.

Applying for the job was simple and I heard back really quickly. The recruiter was great - super friendly and professional. The interviewer was also a really nice and helpful person. She made me feel at ease right away. Even though I didn't end up getting an offer, it was still a positive experience.

The interview process was a bit of a mess. It was supposed to be four interviews, but only three happened. One was a shadowing thing, and another was a skills assessment that didn't really match what I prepared for. That skills assessment had questions about product knowledge, like sustainability and manufacturing stuff, and 15-20 minutes wasn't enough time for 9 questions on such specific topics. The whole thing took 3-4 hours without any breaks or drinks. They told us to 'relax' for a chat about personality, but then got feedback saying I wasn't enthusiastic enough. One manager was super quiet and seemed bored, which was weird, and the other one did all the talking. It felt like they thought I was overqualified because I have more experience than the young managers and team. When I talked about my past jobs, the team lead got weird, especially when I mentioned admiring her career path and how it showed potential for growth. She kinda shot down the idea of quick advancement and seemed worried about me working weekends, even though I said I was flexible. She apparently told the hiring manager her concerns. Overall, it was just awkward and uncomfortable, and they could definitely improve how they run things, talk to candidates, and get interviewers more involved.
