First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Subway.
Store Manager
I applied online and got a call for a phone interview. It was standard, gave me enough info about the job. Then, I was asked to come in for a face-to-face interview at the store with the regional manager and store manager. It felt unprofessional and uncomfortable because it was in the customer area. The whole thing felt like overkill for this role, like they were trying to make it seem more important than it is. They wanted me to do a trial shift making sandwiches, but I didn't go because the whole process was just too much for a simple job like this.
- If a staff member calls out sick on your day off, what would you do?
Store Manager
After sending in my resume, I had a one-on-one with the district manager. Then, the director joined us. We talked about my work habits, how I handle different scenarios, my experience with Subway, what I enjoy about working there, and my expectations for a management role. The whole conversation was very positive and energetic, just like Subway artists should always be.
- What's your approach to resolving disagreements between team members?
Store Manager
I didn't get a call for an interview right away. So, I called them about a week after I applied. Once I interviewed, I was hired immediately! After the supervisor saw how I work and what I'm capable of, they decided to train me as a Manager. I've been with Subway since.
- There were simple math problems, but nothing too hard.
- Tell me about your work ethic.
- What are your skills?
