First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stuart.
Operations Executive
The interview process was really long and drawn out with poor communication, honestly it was quite painful. First there was a chat with an Ops Executive about the job and company which was good. Then I had to submit a Case Study to show I understood delivery operations, which was simple enough. After that, I had an Interview/Presentation of the Case Study where they asked tough questions about my past experiences and what I expected from the role. I didn't get to the final stage, which would have been a discussion with the Head of Courier Operations, likely about fitting in with the team, and probably quite intense. There were significant delays after the case study, it took a full week to even schedule the next step, and I had to chase them to confirm a time because it felt like they forgot about it. Communication was bad. The case study presentation itself was rough; the hiring manager was about 10 minutes late, started the video call while getting settled, and seemed distracted at times, even waving at someone in the office during our call. It felt like they'd had a long day and it was hard to get them engaged. The absolute worst part, though, was waiting an agonizing three weeks for any kind of outcome after the interview. I followed up after two weeks and still had to wait another week for a response. Terrible communication again. My impression is that Stuart needs to seriously improve their interview process so that other candidates have a better experience than I did.
- What are your expectations for this role in the first 6 months and long term?
- Can you share an example of when you improved a process or product?
Operations Executive
So the interview process started off pretty good, I was into the role, but the ending was super disappointing. After a couple of steps, like talking to the Senior Talent Acquisition Manager and the Operations Manager, I got a case study. I put a lot of time into it, analyzing, making a presentation, and then presenting it to the panel. I really took it seriously and put in the effort, and expected the same back. But after the last round, even after chasing them up, I heard nothing. No feedback, no nothing. Just ghosted. It’s unprofessional and shows they don't care about the time and effort we put in. Bad for Stuart's candidate experience and employer brand. Makes you wonder how they operate internally if this is their hiring process. Hope they fix it. Everyone deserves respect, especially when they try hard.
- What's your approach to managing challenging customers?
- What strategies would you use to identify and stop fraud?
Operations
The interview process was thorough and had 4 main stages: screening, a presentation, situational questions, and a culture fit interview. It was a slow process, taking over a month. The interviewers were not HR professionals, which I think would have improved the quality of the interviews. I did receive good feedback afterwards, which was appreciated.
