The interview process was quite extensive, spanning about 4 months. Thankfully, the timing worked out well for me career-wise, so the long duration wasn't an issue. It might be a concern if a faster turnaround is needed, but I suppose there are good business reasons for the thoroughness. I kept reminding myself, 'good things come to those who wait...' The steps included: a LinkedIn message from a recruiter, a phone screen, two in-person interviews, an introduction to HR over the phone, a skills review call, a fit assessment call, a personality and IQ test, identifying a potential client, and finally, a client drug screen and background check.

I spoke with a recruiter, a chief of staff, and the president for this role. The interviews were informal, happening in coffee shops and restaurants. One interviewer dominated the conversation with their own experiences, not really listening to mine. The president seemed friendly and approachable. The chief of staff appeared a bit defensive. The recruiter was easy to chat with. I didn't get a strong sense of deep technical knowledge from the team. There wasn't any skills assessment or specific questioning about my qualifications. The focus seemed to be more on personality fit.

Behavioral Presentation

There were a couple of informal meet-ups over breakfast or lunch before the actual process began. The formal part involved a half-day of interviews at the office. This included two one-on-one interviews with peers, one one-on-one with a managing partner, and a 20-minute PowerPoint presentation on a topic I chose. I thought the whole process was thorough and well-thought-out. It made me feel good about the quality of people already there and confirmed that anyone joining would be thoroughly vetted. While I had been talking to the firm for months, the interview part itself was quicker.
