I had a phone call with a recruiter. The interview seemed pretty easy and I felt I did great. The recruiter mentioned sending an NDA and scheduling an in-person interview for a specific date and time. However, when the date arrived, there was no meeting invite and no NDA. I reached out to inquire about the situation and was informed they were moving forward with other candidates. This left a really bad impression, and I wouldn't recommend them.

I applied online and the recruiter reached out. We had an initial recruiter phone call, and then I went into the office for an in-person interview. The recruiter was great and explained the role and company well, which made me want to continue. However, meeting the hiring manager was a really bad experience. She seemed disinterested and was unprofessional and rude. She started by saying they usually hire people with much more experience than I have. When I asked about her concerns, she said my 6 years of project management experience might only be enough for a project coordinator role. She also mentioned names of people I might know who were recently hired, which made me uncomfortable as a candidate.

As a recent hire at this awesome firm, I was really impressed with how they guided me through their interview process. I'd already heard great things from friends and past bosses about them, so it wasn't a total shock, but they definitely lived up to their reputation. In my first few interviews, I got a strong sense of their passion and honest insights into the firm and how it runs. It was obvious they've built a business that really prioritizes people and customers. It's great to find a company that shares my values. What I especially liked is how they know that truly smart people are worth going the extra mile for, and that smart people like working with other smart people – which is a pretty cool idea and something I haven't seen much elsewhere.

Behavioral Presentation

There were a couple of informal meet-ups over breakfast or lunch before the actual process began. The formal part involved a half-day of interviews at the office. This included two one-on-one interviews with peers, one one-on-one with a managing partner, and a 20-minute PowerPoint presentation on a topic I chose. I thought the whole process was thorough and well-thought-out. It made me feel good about the quality of people already there and confirmed that anyone joining would be thoroughly vetted. While I had been talking to the firm for months, the interview part itself was quicker.
