Coding Technical

It was an HR screening, a project review, and then an on-site interview. You really need to have experience with leet coding to do well on the on-site. Honestly, I felt like the interview process was more about finding someone who had done a lot of interview prep rather than someone who actually had the skills.

Behavioral Technical

I had an initial chat with a recruiter, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by a take-home assignment. The first two chats were mainly behavioral. I was given a dataset for the take-home task, where I had to do some clustering and classification, and then write up a report. It ended up taking me way longer than the 4-6 hours they suggested, more like 10-12 hours. A few days after submitting it, I got a standard rejection email without any feedback on the take-home part. Honestly, for the time commitment, it'd be nice to get some feedback on why I wasn't selected. Lesson learned: maybe skip take-home assessments.

Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

It was a Recruiter Call, then a HM Call, followed by a Take-home assignment, and finally a virtual Onsite. The HM screen was really good, lots of relevant experience discussed. We talked about my past experience and how I'd approach problems on the team. Then I got the take-home; I spent about 12 hours on it, way more than the 4-8 hours suggested. The assignment felt like something a whole team would tackle - defining the problem and solving it. I wrote up as much code as I could and a business doc outlining the issues and solutions. Sent it in and got rejected, with no feedback at all; it was a horrible experience for a Senior candidate, especially when I have multiple offers from the usual top-tech companies.
