The recruiter screen was really positive, but the interview with a peer Account Executive was unexpected. They mentioned that the product feedback loop is mostly informal and relies on personal relationships with product managers. I'm wondering how the team intends to scale these insights as they grow their headcount. It's possible the Account Executive wasn't fully aligned with Stripe.

So, I was really pumped for this Account Executive position and spent a good amount of time prepping for each interview, like digging into the industry and figuring out the buyer personas. It kicked off with a recruiter screening, then a chat with the hiring manager, and then a mock call. There were supposed to be more stages, but I didn't get that far. The recruiter was clear with communication, but the instructions for the mock call were a bit fuzzy. I'd prepared for a 30-minute discovery using the MEDDPICC structure, only to find out during the interview that we only had 15 minutes for the actual mock call. I got an email saying they were moving forward with other candidates they felt were a better fit, but no specific feedback was given. When I asked for more details, they just reiterated that other candidates were stronger. It was a real letdown, especially when you're excited about a company and would be willing to work on yourself for future opportunities.
