It was a really terrible experience. They put me through six rounds of interviews for an associate level role, and then they ghosted me. It's been over a month since the last interviews. I followed up twice and one of the replies was "we're finalizing interviews with other candidates". This was after they explicitly told me it was down to me and another candidate after my last interview. I get that they might go in a different direction, but the lack of communication after so many rounds is unprofessional. Avoid this place.
- Describe a situation where you had to juggle multiple competing priorities.
Teacher
The interview process began with a recorded interview featuring four questions from Stride HR. Shortly after, I was contacted by Stride HR again to set up a Zoom interview with the virtual academy. The interviewers were a bit late, and the atmosphere felt off, which confirmed my worries from employee reviews about the environment. While the interview itself was polite, it was evident that neither side was particularly enthusiastic about proceeding. A couple of days later, I received the rejection I anticipated. The process was quick, but my personal experience felt like a waste of time.
- How do you create a rigorous setting in a virtual school?
- Describe an instance where you influenced a student's life outside of school.
- How do you integrate state standards into your day-to-day lesson planning?
English Teacher
Had a 30-50 minute one-on-one virtual interview with the high school principal, conducted via HireVue. He asked about 4-5 questions regarding my background, how I engage students, develop curriculum, my experience with state testing, and PLCs. I asked them about their DMS and LMS, the typical school day schedule, class sizes, and the technology platforms they use.
- How do you incorporate technology into your teaching, especially for a 100% virtual classroom?
Finance Director
Started with a recruiter call that felt more like an info session about the company. Then interviewed with the hiring manager (VP), who asked super basic, pre-written questions like 'where do you see yourself in 5 yrs' and 'tell me something about you that isn't on your resume'. It felt very robotic. After that, there was silence despite me reaching out for an update as I was looking at other offers. I ended up accepting another offer because that company seemed more professional. Then, two months later, I got a scripted rejection email stating they were moving on with other candidates. The job was reposted on their career site shortly after. Very unprofessional and I'm glad I didn't end up there.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
- Can you share something about yourself that is not currently on your resume?
