They set up a slack channel and sent me a Notion doc with a project description that would take approximately 10 hours. I was paid at a great rate for my time and I had a small amount of collaboration with the Streak engineers. I ended up not getting the position but appreciated the process. My only critique of the process is the responsiveness for Slack was very slow so I wasn't entirely sure why I was interviewed. I didn't feel like anyone was interested in hiring me and it was more going through the motions.

The interview was great and mellow. It started with an introductory call where they explained the company. Then, there was a take-home exercise designed to test your knowledge and how you'd handle specific scenarios. After that, I had a relaxed but informative meeting with two of the current support specialists. This was followed by multiple rounds with teammates to assess my skills in certain areas. Overall, it was fine. I felt like everyone liked me except the CEO, unfortunately.

It was a really good experience. First, I had to record a video introducing myself and explaining my interest in the role. Then, I got a take-home project. This project was meant to show off my skills, help us get to know each other, and give me a feel for how the company works and collaborates. The last part was a live jam session with the CEO. It wasn't a typical interview process, which I liked because it gave me a chance to show what I can do and avoided those boring behavioral questions. The take-home project was challenging, but I could reach out to the team for help and get a sense of real-world collaboration. There were also a few video recordings where I had to present myself and my designs. While some might prefer discussing designs live, I thought the videos were better for clearly explaining my thought process. This approach is unique but effective, even though it took a bit longer than I thought, which makes sense given the effort needed to review everything.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • The interview process heavily favors a take-home test over live interviews.
  • A document detailing the requirements for the take-home test was provided.

I applied on Wellfound and a recruiter reached out. I had to fill out another application on their website and record a Loom video explaining my qualifications for the job. After that, I got a take-home assignment where I had to review the Streak product in Gmail and then record another Loom video demonstrating how it works, after using their learning center for hours. Sadly, I didn't move forward and didn't get any feedback, which I found pretty disrespectful considering the time I put into learning and recording videos.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Record yourself explaining your suitability for the role.
  • Record yourself explaining the functionality and rationale behind the application.
