The interview process was quite lengthy, spanning about three rounds. Throughout, they were pretty vague about the salary. A lot of the questions felt a bit like they were trying to sell me on the role. The second interview was especially unique; they really hammered home how close-knit the team is and how they encourage hanging out after work for happy hours and stuff.

I got through the phone interview. It felt really quick and not personal at all. They interviewed me on the spot, and it was like she wasn't even paying attention to what I was saying. The pay wasn't great, but I felt pressured to say it was fine because of the benefits. She then said I'd continue with the process, but it struck me as odd that she didn't want to interview me herself or get to know me better. It felt strange, and I had this gut feeling she'd look me up online. And guess what, I was right! After thinking about the job and the salary, I was about to email her to say the pay was too low. Then I checked my email, and it said they were moving on with another candidate. Keep in mind, during our chat, she asked if I was talking to other companies, and I was honest about it. It's kind of funny she didn't mention they were interviewing someone else. I had a weird feeling about how they made this decision, and when I checked my social media, I saw someone with the same first and last name as the interviewer. It's one thing to do background checks, but they should be upfront about it. Nothing on my profile is bad or job-related, so I find it super shady that she looked at it and didn't ask me anything about it. I know most companies check social media. But to go from being excited to move forward to suddenly stopping the interview process based on social media without saying anything is really unprofessional. Honestly, I'm so glad I don't work for them. Judging people like that doesn't scream healthy workplace. I've never had an experience like this. It feels like they'll just dismiss you without a real chance, and I'm thankful I won't find out anything else.

A recruiter from their LA office reached out via LinkedIn since I was looking for work. She messaged me and then called right away for a few quick questions and to set up a 1:1 in-person meeting with the director in their Boston office, which is in the WeWork across from South Station. Kristina in LA was professional and polite in setting up my interview with Albert. I found Albert difficult to engage with; he acted like he and others around him were different, on another level maybe, but he didn't treat anyone around him as equals, not the WeWork staff, his 'assistant', or myself during the interview process.
