& Process

I applied at Strait for a fund accounting position. I went through 3-4 interviews and they said they wanted one last interview before making an offer. They set it up virtually, but when it was time, no one showed up and they didn't say anything or apologize. They rescheduled for a few weeks later and said the job would still be open. About a week after that, they called to say the position was filled. The interviewers seemed fake and smug, acting like it was a hassle to interview me.

I really enjoyed the interview process, it was super professional, organized, and efficient. It took about a month mostly because I had limited availability. First, I did a Culture Index Questionnaire, then a phone interview, followed by accounting and excel skills tests. After that, I had on-site interviews and received an offer just 2 days after the final interview. Everything moved really fast. The recruiters were great with email communication, always letting me know my status and the next steps quickly. Everyone I talked to was friendly, smart, and knew their stuff. They asked good questions. I felt really well taken care of throughout. The process was a great way for them to learn about my experience, personality, and values, and for me to learn about the company culture, the job, and what management expects. It was a fantastic experience overall.

The hiring process went quite well, even though I wasn't living in the city at the time of the interviews. The recruiter was good about keeping me informed. When they decided to offer me the job, they were flexible with my start date so I could move to the city. I heard back in about two weeks. I had to complete some tests before starting, but the interviews mostly focused on getting to know me. I think they were confident I could handle the work itself but wanted to ensure I was a good cultural fit.

It was okay overall. I had a phone interview and then a zoom interview. Due to covid, the interview was in person, but I am sure that it would now be in person. The HR team and whoever conducts the interview did not communicate as information I shared with them was not passed on. They laughed me out of the interview and were pretty condescending during the interview process.
