First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stott & May.
Recruitment Consultant
It was a really disappointing experience. They told us we could ask the L&D team anything, no wrong answers. But when I asked about not meeting client expectations or changing requirements, the response was incompetent and dismissive, and the tone was really off-putting, affecting other interviewees too. I tried to stay open-minded, but the interview process felt inconsistent and unfair. While others got standard questions, I got a completely different set, which even the talent acquisition team noticed. It seemed like they were trying to catch me out with unfamiliar questions, but it didn't work. Then, with the managing consultant and another team member, they brought up my employment history, questioning a three-month temporary contract. Even after I explained it was temporary, the consultant seemed uninterested and dismissive, with smirks and judgmental looks. It was unprofessional and disrespectful. It's a shame when people let titles get in the way of treating others with respect. Stott & May definitely has issues with professionalism, consistency, and respect.

Recruitment Consultant
Had a typical first interview with the internal recruiter over the phone, it lasted about 30 minutes. It was mostly a chat about my experience and what I'm looking for in a role. Honestly, you could tell she wasn't really that interested because she wasn't engaging during the call. It's fine if we don't click, as we're both evaluating each other, but the recruiter seemed unprofessional due to her lack of engagement.

Senior Recruiter
The interview journey started with a call with the internal recruiter, Liana from NY, who kept me updated throughout. Next, I spoke with the Hiring Manager in LA, Amarath, who was super enthusiastic about the team he's building. Then, I had a call with the CEO, Stephen Stott. After that, it was an on-site with the LA team, followed by a second on-site where I had to present a 30-60-90 day plan. Finally, there was a call with HR to discuss benefits and performance expectations. They even set up a lunch with some of the LA team so we could connect outside the office. The whole process felt smooth, and I really liked how Stott & May made an effort to understand my career goals to ensure a good mutual fit. It was a tough choice to decline, as I had another offer.
