Sales Development Representative
The recruiter, Monica, is great at preparing you and keeping you updated. After talking to her, there might be up to 3 interviews. The first one is a Zoom call with basic get-to-know-you questions. Then, there's an in-person interview where you role-play their script with a manager. Practicing a few times helps, but it can vary by manager. If they're really interested, you might skip the third interview, which is with the director and is more of a vibe check.
- Tell me about yourself and your background.
- What's your understanding of what our company does?
- Can you practice delivering their sales script?
Sales Development Representative
The recruiter was super nice during our initial chat. She really hyped up the company culture and talked a lot about how they promote people from within. One promotion she mentioned didn't quite add up for me though. Apparently, once you hit a certain level, you just switch to a salary but your pay doesn't actually go up.
- What makes you want to work at Stormwind?
Sales Development Representative
The first interview was a recruiter screener covering my expectations about pay and growth. The recruiter was friendly, but the compensation offered was below market. I also wasn't keen on the daily 6 AM start time. My second interview felt odd; I was asked a lot of questions in a very direct way. For example, when I asked about typical work hours, the interviewer stated, "Well we don't really look at that here. It's really as long as it takes to get the job done." This was a major red flag for me, though I don't mind working overtime. Compared to other companies I interviewed with, StormWind left a poor impression. The day after, the recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn to say they weren't moving forward with my application, though I had already lost interest.
- What's your motivation for pursuing a career in sales?
- What aspects of selling educational technology are attractive to you?
