An HR person from Stord set up the interviews online through a cool portal where you could pick your own times. The interviews were super chill and conversational. We talked about a lot of stuff but not many typical interview questions, they were more interested in what I'd done. It was a 4-5 step process over Zoom. First was a screener with HR, then the Hiring Manager, then 3rd and 4th interviews with coworkers in the same department. After that, nothing - they just went silent. No "we'll get back to you in a week" or "we hired someone else." After I followed up a bunch of times, giving them lots of time and patience, they finally said they weren't hiring for the role anymore.

It started with a recruiter call that was super high energy. Then a peer interview, which was also upbeat, but they seemed unaware of what the recruiter had discussed, though I get it was last minute for them. There was a scheduling mix-up with the third interview; it got missed because it was booked in the wrong time zone (EST instead of PST). We rescheduled, and again, it felt like there was no communication between interviewers. The fourth interview was with a peer and a skip-level manager. This was the most technical part, with lots of questions on specific tech I know. In the end, I didn't get the job, but they did offer me something else that they felt was a better match for my experience and what I need.

First, I had a brief chat with a recruiter to go over my background and experience. Then, I went through 4 Zoom interviews, which gave me a feel for the company, its culture, and the people at STORD. These interviews included discussing scenarios about my management style, analytical skills, customer relations, and problem-solving. After that, I had another phone interview with the VP of Operations. It was a pleasant and thorough process overall, showing they really care about finding the right fit for their roles, focusing on quality over quantity.
