Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at STERIS.
Engineering Co-Op
The interview included questions about my schooling and any programs I knew, like SolidWorks. They also asked if I had experience in a manufacturing setting and if I'd ever used tools.
- Have you previously worked in a manufacturing setting?
Engineer
I applied online and then got an email to set up a time to chat with a recruiter. The recruiter was supposed to call me, but they didn't. After waiting, I emailed them twice. They finally emailed back saying they had called and left a voicemail, which they didn't. Then they did call, but said they were too busy to talk and were very rude. It didn't make a good impression of the company.
- What's your approach when dealing with someone who's too busy to interview potential employees?
Engineer
I was contacted a few days after I posted my resume on their website. I had a phone interview and then three one-on-one interviews. The interview process was very well organized and included a plant tour. I recommend to just focus on the positional requirements and relate those requirements to your professional backround during the interview.
- Can you describe a process improvement project you've finished in a previous role and what the outcomes were?
