Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stericycle.
Account Executive
We had several interviews over the phone and virtually. You'll chat with the recruiter, a sales manager, and another Account Executive. They'll ask some basic questions about your past work and what drives you. It's a pretty fast process overall.
- What is your biggest motivator?
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- What motivates you most about this opportunity?
Inside Sales Executive
Applied on Thursday, got a call early the next week for an in-person interview that Friday. Shadowed two people in the role to see their daily tasks and systems, which I really enjoyed. Then had a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager about my experience, likes, and dislikes. Heard back the same afternoon about moving forward. Next was a 30-minute phone interview with an Inside Sales Manager from another branch, with similar questions. The final round was a phone interview with the Director, which went over an hour. He talked about the role and onboarding, and asked about my personality and professional background.
- Can you share an instance where your initial strategy failed? What adjustments did you make, and what was the result?
Sales Executive
Applied for the sales executive role and the hiring manager called me directly for the first interview via WebEx. It was a straightforward call where we discussed my resume and I was asked about my previous roles and situations. Over the next two weeks, I had two more interviews, including a final video interview with the VP. I was told I'd hear back the following week. Two weeks later, a recruiter called me, unaware I'd already completed three interviews for the position. They said they'd follow up later that week, but never did. The following week, I received an automated email stating they decided not to proceed with my application.
- Would you be alright with making a lot of prospecting calls?
