Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at StepStone Group.
Intern
The first round was pretty chill, mostly behavioral stuff about your past experiences. You gotta know their investment model inside out, including its strengths and weaknesses. They also wanted to know why you're interested in the company and this particular team.
- Could you explain your investment strategy?
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of our investment approach?
Intern
The interview process involved two rounds. It was more of a conversation, focusing on background, market awareness, and recruiting, rather than technical aspects. They asked a lot about past work experiences and extracurriculars. The interviewers were friendly, making it easy to follow. Some questions touched on business development and marketing.
- What makes you want to work at StepStone?
- Could you explain your reasons for joining either x or y?
- Tell me about your previous work experiences.
Intern
It was good, first round, then written test, then second round. Everyone was very nice, but had a good grip on why Stepstone. My first round interviewer was extremely nice and we had more of a conversational interview.
- Can you tell me about our secondaries practice?
