Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at StepStone Group.
Analyst
Had 2 interviews with different people on the team. You should know their venture activities well: i.e. fund of funds, secondaries, and co-investments. It's not a direct investment venture capital firm.
- Can you describe the function of the venture team at StepStone Group?
Analyst
It was a three round process. The first round was an intro, not much to it. The second round was with the senior team, it was mostly technical with some behavioral questions. The third round was with a director and was all technical with brain teasers. The third interview was the worst, it had a lot of pressure and difficult questions.
- What are your Python skills?
- What are your Excel skills?
- What are your SQL skills?
Senior Analyst
It started with a quick call, then I had some Teams meetings with the manager and two managing directors. Then I got invited to come to the office to have lunch and meet everyone on the team. My last interview was with the COO and a partner.
- Describe how you'd manage challenging situations with colleagues and clients.
