The process spanned 4 months and consisted of video interviews with multiple levels of management. The process was disjointed and extraordinarily long. A diverse hiring team would prevent managers from only hiring people who they share cultural experiences with, instead of solely looking at qualifications. “Culture Fit” is the new term used for easy disqualification. If you’re a person of color avoid this company; they are not ready for you. You may be invited to the table, but you will not be asked to sit down and definitely will not be asked to speak. Be sure to never mention wanting to be promoted, avoid giving ideas on how the company can be more successful. And definitely do not give away any of your intellectual property during the interview process for them to take and not pay you for.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

It started with a headhunter posting, and I submitted my info. The headhunter contacted me the next day about this immediate need. The whole thing took about 11 weeks, with really long silent stretches. It involved a written questionnaire, a call with the hiring manager, an online test, and then a face-to-face panel interview. Everyone was nice, but it felt disorganized. We'd go weeks without contact, and when I asked for updates, nobody knew what was going on. I had actually forgotten about it when they called me for the final meeting. I didn't get the job, but it was a positive experience. I knew early on that my skills and salary expectations might not be the best fit, so I wasn't too upset. I'd consider applying again if a similar role came up.
