Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Steelcase.
Intern
The interview had a lot of technical questions about my previous experiences on my resume. Overall, it was a smooth interview and I had plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn more about the internship position.
- Can you share an instance where you received criticism and describe your reaction?
- Could you elaborate on your past experiences as listed on your resume?
Intern
The first interview was great, I really connected with the two interviewers and they were super nice. The second interview was also good, but I didn't have a really smooth conversation with one of the interviewers, and she had some computer issues which made things a bit awkward.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Steelecase?
- Describe one of the most challenging projects you have worked on.
IT Intern
I got referred by a friend who got hired after our professor was emailed about possible candidates for an IT Intern position needing general development and 3D graphics skills. My interview was unique because it was an employee referral for a specific job. I only had one interview where they asked general questions to gauge my communication and programming abilities, and check my previous work experience.
- Can you tell me about your general communication skills?
- Can you tell me about your general programming skills?
- Can you tell me about your prior work experience?
