Behavioral

First call on Teams: it was especially important why you want to work as an SR. Especially motivation and long-term interest in the position seemed to be the focus. Even though it was officially an entry-level position, there seemed to be less interest in a person who might want to develop elsewhere in the long term. After the conversation, I never heard from the company again / received no rejection or acceptance. Accordingly, I fundamentally rate the conversation as normally difficult, but negative due to the ghosting.

It was a standard interview with straightforward questions, mostly about my resume. I had to be able to talk about my past experiences and give examples to help them understand me better as a candidate.

Behavioral Technical

Applied in early March 2017 for a student assistant position. Got a reply the next day from the recruiter, confirming receipt and inviting me to an initial phone interview the day after. The phone interview was pleasant and the recruiter immediately offered to be called by his first name, as is normal at the company but uncommon in German business culture. After introductions, the recruiter described the company and the position. I then introduced myself, talked about my background, experience, and interest. It's good to know about the company beforehand. The conversation lasted 15-20 minutes, my questions were answered, and we set a date for a personal interview the following week. Although two recruiters were present for the personal interview, the atmosphere was relaxed. I expected a tough interview with tests, but it was similar to the phone interview, just more in-depth and longer. There was no stress, and all my questions were answered politely. They needed someone qualified and a good personal fit. Unfortunately, I wasn't hired because I'm finishing my degree next semester and haven't decided on a Masters. They needed someone committed for at least a year, making me too risky.
