Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at State of Oklahoma.
Executive Secretary
The interview process was pretty straightforward and easy. It was a first interview with a panel of 2 and then a follow up second interview with the same two people, after which I was offered the job.
- Why are you the best fit for this role?
Staff Assistant
Classified employees have more steps than unclassified. Unclassified are often classified staff who move up. Nice increase in salary for unclassified but can be fired on no reason if new bosses don't like you.
- Were you asked about ethics?
Administrative Assistant
There were two interviews for this role. The first one was with my direct supervisor and two other people from the team. They didn't have any flexibility on the date, as they were conducting interviews that day and wouldn't make exceptions. The second interview was with the manager of the unit, and it was pretty informal. The decision was made very quickly, on the same day as the second interview. After that, there was about a month before I could start, mostly due to the background check process.
- The interview seemed quite easy.
