Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at State of Colorado.
Administrative Assistant
The interviewer started by giving me the lowdown on the job - what the day-to-day looks like, what the responsibilities are as an administrative assistant. Then we moved on to some behavioral questions, like 'tell me about a time when...'. Finally, they opened it up for me to ask any questions I had. After this, I think there was a presentation, and then an offer.
- Can you share an instance of a workplace conflict you experienced, detailing how you resolved it and your satisfaction with the outcome?
- Tell me about a personal goal you set and the steps you took to achieve it.
- What motivated you to apply for this specific role?
Staff Assistant
We had a phone interview screening first, and then a group interview with some staff members and management. They gave us a list of questions about 15 minutes before the interview to let us think them over.
- Can you tell us about your qualifications?
- Describe a situation where XYZ occurred.
- What motivated your interest in working for the state?
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was quick and straightforward. I met with a panel of three interviewers who asked me questions about my skills and what I could contribute to the role. It was a pretty good interview in general.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
