First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Analyst
The interview process involved six panel interviews spread across two appointments, which was inconvenient due to scheduling conflicts with my existing job. It seemed excessive to meet with so many interviewers, especially since I would only collaborate with one of them. The questions were standard, without any unexpected topics. The overall hiring timeline from application to offer extended to three months. Additionally, it's important to note that the company exclusively offers high-deductible insurance plans, and eligibility for this benefit only begins after three months of employment, a policy that applies to all positions.

I applied through the company website and also via campus recruiting. HR gave me a call to set up an interview over the phone. I first spoke with a Director who told me more about the job and asked why I would be a good fit. I was then invited to the office for a 1-on-1 interview. This was followed by 4-5 more visits over the next 6 months where I met with 10-15 people from the company. Ultimately, I received and accepted an offer.

- Why are you a good fit for this role?
Analyst
Applied online for a system analyst position in Nov. Had a webcam interview with the I.T. Director, then about a month later, another webcam interview with HR and the I.T. Director, and finally an in-person interview. All three interviews were pretty chill. They didn't tell me the hiring decision, I had to check the website myself. Kind of expected an email since I interviewed 3 times, even if it was a no. The whole thing took nearly three months.
- Why should we hire you?
