First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Startek.
Technical Support Engineer
So the interview was pretty standard, you know, first HR gave me a quick check, then I had some technical interviews, and then I talked with the manager. They really wanted to see how I approach problems, if I can work with others, if I'm flexible, and of course, my technical skills. It felt like a good way to see if I'd fit in and if the job was a good match for me.
- What's your approach when a customer tells you they're experiencing the same technical problem over and over?
Technical Support Representative
I did an online skills assessment that was pretty easy to pass, maybe even cheat on. Then I had an onsite interview which was a panel interview. The questions were generic and the panel seemed confused about what to ask and how to proceed. They also weren't clear on benefits, start times, salary, or shifts. The class was supposed to start in April, then pushed to May, then June, and the last start date I heard was July 2014. I had already taken another job by then because I have a family and can't wait around for months while a company figures things out.
- How did you find out about this opportunity?
- What makes you want to join Startek?
- What's your knowledge of computers?
Technical Support Representative
The interview had a strange comforting vibe. My interviewer was a pleasant young man who never made me feel intimidated. Even though I was nervous naturally, but I was able to go through the interview really quickly.
- Can you describe a time when you had to be flexible at work?
- What led to you leaving your previous job?
- Tell me about a situation where you had to handle a difficult customer.
