First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Starr Restaurants.

I interviewed with management for a restaurant opening. The environment they set up was very comfortable, and the whole process felt really streamlined. What could have been a long day was actually pretty simple. I met with a panel of management and they asked me personal and professional questions. Some questions were clearly tests, like what wine I'd recommend with a specific dish. It was all very straightforward, and the vibe was friendly.
- Can you tell me about a standout menu item from a past job?
Server
It was a really long interview, with three different managers interviewing me. They were all really nice and welcoming. Each manager asked pretty much the same things, and there was about a 15-minute break between each one, which felt like they were trying to intimidate me. On the plus side, they let you know if you got the job right away.
- Can you sell me your favorite dish?
Server
They just ask about previous experience to see if you have experience in fast pace environment. They ask in a general way about your wine and food knowledge. The interview is not intimidating at all. Really just a friendly conversation. You may be interviewing for an hour if the conversation goes well.
- Do you know the French wine regions?
