Environmental Scientist
The interview included some technical questions and questions about my experience. They asked about my background with chemical data, data analysis, CEQA, and environmental planning. Technical questions involved different scenarios and how I would react.
- Can you tell me about your experience with CEQA?
Scientist
Met with managers at the city office for a sit-down interview. We talked about my relevant studies and work experience, and my experience with occupational safety and health. Then they gave me a short tour of the relevant work areas.
- What is your level of experience?
Scientist
The interview process involved two one-on-one meetings, each lasting less than 30 minutes. The office environment was welcoming and had a relaxed yet focused atmosphere. Management didn't seem to prioritize the applicant's qualifications, skills, or achievements. They also appeared unprepared, making it seem like they hadn't reviewed the resumes beforehand. Interestingly, management seemed more focused on skills and qualifications that were outside the specific scope of the scientist role I applied for.
- Tell me about skills you possess that fall outside your primary area of expertise.
