& Process

I first connected with the recruiter on LinkedIn. He passed my resume to two different teams, and both were interested. I then had two phone interviews, one with each team. After that, I was flown out to Townson, MD for an in-person interview, which involved six one-on-one meetings. The recruiter kept telling me I was a top candidate throughout. After the interview, I sent a thank you email once I got home. A week later, I emailed her for an update, as she'd said I'd hear back immediately if accepted. After a couple more weeks, I called. She mentioned they liked my interview and were finishing up with other candidates. Another week went by, I sent another email, tried calling a few times, and then never heard back from them again. Really rude!

Referred for the position. Started with a 30-min HR phone screen about 1-2 weeks after applying. Then, an hour-long Zoom with 2 engineers, mostly behavioral questions. Got invited for an on-site at Towson campus for the upcoming Friday, asked for my availability. Replied quickly but never got confirmation or details. Followed up via email and voicemails for days. Still no response by Thursday afternoon, less than 24 hours before the supposed interview. Reached out to internal connections. HR finally responded 5 mins after that, saying something came up and it needed rescheduling. It never was. Got an automated rejection about 2 weeks later. This was frustrating since Stanley Black & Decker sponsored my capstone project which got press, IP, and value for the company. My capstone experience doesn't guarantee a job, but it set an expectation for professionalism that wasn't met. Hope SBD treats employees better than candidates.

First, I had a call with HR to talk about the job and check my interest. Then, I interviewed with 5 engineers. We talked about my past work and school experience, and also what they needed for the role.
