Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Standard Chartered Bank.
Associate Director
The interview process involved 3 rounds: first with the hiring manager, then the team, and lastly with HR. Unfortunately, the communication post-interview was really bad. After the last round, HR mentioned that management approval was the next step. I sent several follow-up emails over the past 2 months, but no offer came through, and communication just stopped without any resolution or even a rejection notice.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Do you have any technical questions for us?
- Are there any behavioral questions you'd like to ask?
Graduate Associate
Applied online, then did a gamified assessment and a behavioural assessment. After passing those, had a recorded digital interview. Next was the assessment centre, which involved preparing and presenting a business innovation for SCP to senior management. They asked technical and behavioural questions about my presentation and background. The final interview was short, about 20 minutes, and felt like a formality. Questions were basic, like "Why banking and why SCP" and "Tell me about this work experience." It's been 2 weeks since the final interview and still no response, even after contacting the recruiter, so expect HR delays.
- Given that you don't have prior experience in banking, what makes you a suitable candidate for this role?
Senior Associate
It was a 2-round interview process, first with HR and then technical. But the HR was super unresponsive, I only got reviews and a callback after 2 weeks of follow-up from my end.
- Tell me about AS 11 and the foreign exchange standard.
