Software Engineer
The interview process started with a 30-45 minute phone screening with a recruiter. After that, there was a 2-hour technical assessment involving basic LeetCode-style questions related to the job's tech stack. The final stage was a 2-hour back-to-back whiteboarding and situational interview with the development team I'd be joining. The recruiter and team made me feel comfortable, treating it like a normal conversation, which was great because I usually get nervous. The questions were clear and fair. I think practicing whiteboarding beforehand would have been a good idea instead of just going with it.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Describe a situation where you had a different opinion about a tech stack that was suggested.
Software Engineer
The whole process was really clear and straightforward. I got the offer exactly one month and a week after applying. There were 4 steps: first, a recruiter chat; second, a technical coding test; third, a white-boarding session with the team I'd be joining; and fourth, another chat with the technical interviewer. Everyone was super friendly and engaging, and they really used the time well. What was great is the recruiter was upfront about the whole process, salary, and benefits, and even sent an email with tips and company info after the first call. Plus, I got to interview with the actual team I'd be working with. They were also really patient with my English as a second language, which I appreciated a lot. Honestly, it was one of the best interview experiences I've had.
- How would you approach various scenarios?
- Tell me about a time you had a disagreement with your team.
Software Engineer
I'm writing to share my experience interviewing for the Senior Software Engineer role at Staffbase. The interview itself went well and was a positive experience overall, but the recruitment communication was disappointing. I repeatedly asked about the interview format beforehand, but I didn't get any clear info, which made it tough to prep. After the interview, I followed up several times for feedback, but the recruiter's response wasn't helpful. Getting constructive feedback is key in hiring, especially for senior folks, so the lack of it felt unprofessional. I think the recruiting team could really step up by being more open, responsive, and prepared with candidates.
- Can you perform a code review of a Java project?
