First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Staff Management SMX.
Warehouse Associate
I saw the opening on a job board and emailed them. They sent me a link to apply. After a few days, I got a call saying they were interviewing at the Downtown office. When I arrived, I had to do an assessment where I matched products to codes, similar to what warehouse workers use with their devices. If I passed that within 10 minutes, I had an interview where they asked about my past jobs, my physical ability for the role, and common sense safety questions. After passing that, I took an oral drug test while watching a video about the company. Then they gave me a handbook with policies and said they'd let me know about orientation.
- All common sense questions
Warehouse Associate
I applied online and then went into the office. I brought two forms of ID and proof of my education. Once there, I took an assessment and then had an interview. After that, I completed a drug test and filled out some tax forms. I was put into an orientation that same day and also assigned to a shift, which was contingent on my drug test and background check coming back clear.
- Are you interested in training to operate PIT trucks?
Warehouse Worker
I chatted with an HR person from the San Bernardino office. They asked me some pretty basic things about whether I'd be okay with the weird hours and if getting to work would be a problem. They also mentioned that the warehouse was just getting started from scratch and that I'd be working with about 3 or 4 other people to manage the place.
- Would it be an issue for you to work from 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.?
