Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at St. Mary's Medical Center (Florida).
Registered Nurse
The interviewers made me wait 20 minutes in a dirty room by the PICU. They didn't apologize for being late, and didn't even introduce themselves until more than halfway through. They asked really basic questions and acted like they already had someone picked for the job, even though they still had to interview other candidates. It was rude and a total waste of my time.
- Can you share a strength and a weakness?
- Describe a situation with a challenging patient and your approach to managing it.
- Tell me about an error you made and how you addressed it.
Registered Nurse
The interview process was great. They allowed me to do phone interviews since I was relocating from New York. They asked about my experience and goals. They were easy to talk to and answered all questions I had.
- Can you describe a typical day at your current NICU job?
Registered Nurse
It was pretty straightforward. Applied and then got an email and a call the next day to schedule the interview. It was a really bad interview experience though. The interviewer was super belittling about my current job experience and just talked the whole time. I only got two chances to talk, and it was just to give my thoughts on what they just said. I felt like I couldn't show my personality at all.
- Can you describe a typical shift you have on your current unit?
