& Process

A St. Jude recruiter initially got in touch. My first conversation was a phone interview with the supervisor for the position, where we talked about my background and the job. A few weeks later, the supervisor told me the role was being redefined and I should apply again. This rewrite took about 6-8 weeks. After reapplying, I had a round of second phone interviews with 3-4 people. Finally, I had one more round of interviews with a senior hospital member and then got the offer. The whole thing took about 6 months from start to finish, which felt a bit long, but everyone was really nice and helpful. You could tell they really cared about the mission.

It was a really long interview process, taking over 3 months. I did an HR screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, and an onsite interview. After all that, they wanted to add more interview rounds for a job that didn't even seem to require experience, so I decided to stop the process. There were super long waits between interviews with no communication. The people I did talk to were nice, though. The whole process felt unclear because they kept adding interview steps without much warning, and it wasn't efficient or respectful of my time. I was so excited about the job at St. Jude, but the interview process really put me off. I know some jobs have longer processes, but that makes more sense for leadership roles.
