The hiring process felt really disorganized from the get-go. I got an email asking me to answer some questions and check my internet speed, but there wasn't much info about why or what it was for. Then, during the interview, the person I spoke with seemed totally unprepared and didn't know the process. She even asked me what she was supposed to ask me, which was super unprofessional. It really came across like the company isn't well-coordinated or professional.

Recruiter set up the next interview with the hiring manager during the phone screen, but didn't send back responses to the hiring manager. This felt like a sign that the hiring manager already picked an internal candidate who knew the in-house platform and they just needed to go through the motions with external candidates. Because of this, the hiring manager didn't seem to care. The interview was super easy, and one interviewer had low energy, just going through the motions, so it finished 20 minutes early. It's a common thing, but it just wastes time. They asked basic questions and didn't really dig into my background or the financial engineering skills needed.

First, there was an HR screening. Then, I had an interview with some team members I'd be working with, which went well. The last interview was with the director, who just wanted to confirm my comfort with the role and responsibilities. The offered salary was quite low for the position. I spoke with HR about potentially negotiating, and they mentioned looking into a different role. However, they ended up rescinding the offer, citing a reason that should have been caught during the initial HR screening.
