First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SRP.
Rotational Engineer
The interview process started with a pre-recorded interview. For each question, you had 30 seconds to prepare and 2 minutes to answer. You could attempt each question up to 3 times. There were 7 questions in total, but the last one was optional, basically for addressing the interview panel, so it was effectively 6 questions.
- What are your reasons for applying to SRP, and why do you believe you are a suitable candidate for this program?
- Can you share details about any power systems class, project, or experience you've had?
- Could you explain the origin of your passion for power systems?
Contact Center Representative
After passing an online assessment, you'll have a 5-minute phone interview. They'll immediately tell you if you're invited to an in-person interview. They call it a Fast Track interview because it's like speed dating. There will be 14 tables with 2 interviewers at each, and you'll have 90 seconds to answer each question. Most questions will be situational. So, just be ready with examples and a positive attitude.
- Can you share an instance where you assisted someone facing financial difficulties?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process has three main rounds. First, there's a test with customer service scenarios that you have to complete quickly, including a typing section at the end of each. If your typing isn't good, you might not move on, which happened to me before. Next, there's a short 5-minute phone interview with a couple of questions from a set they have. If they like you after that, you'll get invited to a speed dating style interview. This involves 14 tables with 2 interviewers each, and you only get 90 seconds per question. They seem more interested in your reaction than your exact answer, so being friendly, smiling, and energetic is key. After that, if you hear back, they'll set up a drug test and a background check, which is pretty straightforward. It's a very competitive process with a lot of applicants for few spots, but the company is great to work for and has a strong work ethic.
- Can you share an instance where you had to adapt to a significant change in your life?
Accounting Analyst
I applied online and within two days the hiring manager reached out for an in-person interview scheduled for the following week. On the interview day, everything seemed to go smoothly. It was a lengthy interview, I'd say about 20 questions or even more. The questions focused more on what you'd prefer in a manager and in a team you're working with. They also asked about how you'd handle issues with colleagues. There were very few questions about the job itself. The panel consisted of three people: the manager and two team members. The overall vibe felt a bit off.
- What are your expectations for a new supervisor?
- What kind of team environment do you look for?
- How would you handle conflicts with coworkers?
