It felt like a university teaching job interview. I was asked to give a seminar and then a lot of questions were asked during the seminar. I was interviewed by about 5 people individually. It was a very technical interview, wanting to know my technical and communication skills. They were interested to see how I respond under pressure. I learned to respond under stress and also about presentation skills to present concepts to a broad audience. It seems like a very good place to work, where the goal is to generate new ideas and attract funding.

I went through two interviews. The first one was a phone screen. Then, I had a presentation for the hiring manager and team, followed by a Q&A session. After the interviews, the hiring manager requested letters of recommendation. Once they received them, I was told there was a funding issue causing a delay and they'd update me. I followed up over several weeks but got no new info. Then, they ghosted me. It was a trash experience, especially asking for rec letters and then ghosting.

I sent my resume in online. Then I had a phone interview. After that, I had an onsite interview. For the onsite, I gave a 40-min talk and met with 6~7 engineers/managers. We mostly talked about my experience and how it fits their projects. Everyone was nice and reasonable.
