Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SRI International.
Researcher
The interviewer was friendly at first but then became distant and cold. I got the feeling I wouldn't get a callback, which was unpleasant. The interviewer could have been nicer.
- What makes you a good candidate for this position?
Researcher
The first stage focused a lot on my research background, which I guess makes sense for a research role. But the interaction was kinda weird. The recruiter didn't really tell me anything about the job or the company, and didn't seem interested in getting to know me either. It was all about my research projects and she sounded kinda aggressive. When I tried to ask about the role or the company vibe, she seemed annoyed and uninterested. So, my advice is definitely be ready to deep dive into your research skills, as that's probably the main thing they're looking for.
- Can you tell me about your experience with data clustering?
Researcher
Had a chat with someone from HR. They were really nice and understanding. Hoping to hear back about a second round. It was all pretty standard, no surprises.
