It began with a screening call from HR to check if my experience matched the job posting. They emphasized wanting to hear about my individual contributions. Some unusual questions came up, like defining 'technology.' Following that, I had a 2.5-hour panel interview session. They again asked about my experience and career aspirations, as well as my academic background and how it related to the department. Nothing particularly surprising was asked during this stage.

So there were actually quite a few steps for this interview. It started with a phone screen with someone who's currently a research analyst. After that, I had TWO panel interviews with more senior management. To wrap things up, there was a phone call with an HR rep. Honestly, the interviews felt pretty repetitive, especially between the two panel interviews and then the HR rep's questions, and I was kinda frustrated with how long it took them to give me a final decision.

We had in-person panel interviews where I was the only candidate with multiple staff members. They asked about my background, previous experience, and why I was interested in research and SRI. It felt pretty informal, though they did follow a protocol. Everyone was really nice.
