Sales Manager
It was a horrible interview experience. I applied online and had a phone interview with a recruiter. He didn't call me at the scheduled time. After I emailed him, he said he was sick and thought he had reached out to reschedule, which he hadn't. I emailed him back and he sent me a reschedule link. The next available slot was over a week away. After that call, I had two Zoom interviews with senior managers lined up. For the first one, I joined 10 minutes early, but the Zoom link required a password. The recruiter wasn't much help, and the interview had to be rescheduled. The second Zoom interview went smoothly, with a friendly manager. It was a casual chat about my background and included a few behavioral questions. The rescheduled first Zoom interview was supposed to happen next. I joined 10-15 minutes early, but the manager never showed up. The recruiter said the manager thought the interview was at a different time, even though we both had the same invite. He called me near the end of our scheduled time and said he was on the Zoom call. I logged back in, but he wasn't there. I texted him, and he said he was on the link they gave him. He then sent me the correct Zoom link. I joined from my phone while already logged in on my laptop. He was on the wrong Zoom call the entire time and basically blamed me. He finally got on the correct call but mentioned he had another interview soon and wanted to reschedule after that. I confirmed the Zoom bridge with him, and he said it would be the same one. I joined our new interview 10 minutes early, and he was on that same bridge interviewing someone else. I left immediately. Eventually, we had our Zoom interview. I don't think I performed well because I was so frazzled from spending hours that afternoon preparing and dealing with this mess. After that, I heard nothing for over a week. I followed up with the recruiter via email. The next day, I received a rejection email. The whole process was unnecessarily long, and Squaretrade had poor communication and made many errors. I believe I would have excelled in the role, but I guess it's their loss.
- Describe a situation where you had to be adaptable.
Sales Manager
The interview process began with good organization and clear communication. It included a phone screening, then two Zoom interviews with a Senior Sales Manager, followed by interviews with Directors, and concluded with a panel presentation. While they were good at explaining the process and what to expect, they didn't follow through. I was told I'd hear back about next steps within a week, but I never did. After a couple of weeks, I contacted the recruiter for an update, and they said I should hear something the following week because candidate review meetings were postponed. That was the last I heard. It's okay if I didn't get the job, but it's unprofessional to leave candidates waiting and unsure about their status in the process.
- Can you describe your methods for staying organized?
SquareTrade Sales Manager Interview Questions
Quoted word for word from SquareTrade interview reports.
“The interview process was interesting because they don't like to use a set list of questions, preferring a more interactive style where you're expected to ask a lot of questions.”
