The recruiter was really bad and the interview experience was awful. The recruiter didn't seem to think my Master’s degree and internships were relevant during the initial phone screening. She also didn't give me much time to ask questions. She didn't know what the hiring team was looking for or who the ideal candidate was because she couldn't answer basic questions or say the hiring manager's name correctly. She once called me on a Friday and wanted me to interview on Monday. After a few rounds, I got an automated rejection, which I wasn't surprised about since others had similar interview experiences. This company doesn't get that interviews are a two-way street.

The interview process was pretty standard: first a screening call with HR, then a phone interview with the hiring manager, and finally an onsite interview. Things moved pretty fast, and the HR was good about keeping me updated on any progress. The only hiccup was during the onsite when one of the team members seemed totally unprepared and asked some questions that felt a bit out of line and not super respectful. It's a bit of a trek from BART, but if you live in the city, there's a muni stop close by, which is nice. They also have a pretty competitive benefits package compared to other smaller or medium-sized companies.

I'm not writing this because the company didn't offer me a job, but because they rejected me without an explanation and ghosted me after the final round. This has to be one of the most disappointing interview experiences ever for me. HR would never respond to my emails. After the initial call, HR mentioned "scheduling the call with hiring manager" and then ghosted me. This happened twice with this company. Not sure if it was the recruiter assigned to me, but I have been ghosted. Might not interview again for this company.
