The whole interview thing was pretty bad. It took like 8 weeks to get ghosted for a whole month and then they finally said someone else got the job. The recruiters were totally silent, didn't reply to emails like other people said. Such a waste of time. It felt super unprofessional and disorganized. They clearly didn't respect my time or effort. I'd steer clear if you want clear communication and professionalism when looking for a job.

I had a technical interview with a senior engineer. The questions were fair, but I don't think I did my best. What bothered me the most was the interviewer's attitude. They complained about having too many meetings and said they mostly do firefighting instead of new development, seeming like they really didn't want to be there. It makes me question what's going on at Sprout if interviewers seem to hate their jobs or the interviewing process. During the technical part, I felt rushed and barely had time to think before they gave me the answer and moved on.

I was contacted by a recruiter from Sprout via email. They responded the same day and set up a quick call to discuss my background and suitable job openings. Following that, the recruiter arranged a phone screen with an engineer. This call involved a brief resume review and then two coding exercises in a shared text editor, where a working solution was prioritized over perfect syntax. Next, I was given a take-home coding challenge. It wasn't overly difficult but offered space to show my knowledge depth. I submitted my best work after a few days, with up to a week allowed for submission. The on-site portion began with an office tour, which was impressive and unique. The actual interviews were in three rounds, each with two interviewers. They asked about high-level design and algorithmic topics. The entire hiring process felt smooth. Being on-site and learning about the engineers' technical work really clarified the role.
