I sent my CV in and heard back a few days later asking me to do a 2-hour written test with 3 questions. If I passed that, I had a 30-minute chat with a recruiter, mostly general questions but focusing on why I wanted to work there. If successful, I had another 30-minute call with a Customer Advocate Manager, asking for examples of projects and times I went above and beyond, plus why I wanted to join and why I was a good fit. Then, I had a 3-hour video interview with 7 team members, with lots of questions, some unexpected, and repeated questions to check if I was the right fit. After that, a week later, a team member wanted to meet for coffee/lunch at the office. It was informal but still had interview-like elements, focusing on personality and culture fit. I was told I'd hear back in a week or two, and I did hear back 6 days later, but they said their needs had changed and they needed someone bilingual, which wasn't in the job spec and felt unprofessional.

Applied through LinkedIn, got an email the next day for a 2-hour written test with a 72-hour deadline. The test was straightforward (questions below). Make sure to download the Sprout Social free trial to help with questions 2 and 3. After sending the test back, it took 2 weeks for them to reply saying I passed. Then, a 30-minute phone screening with HR was set up. It was a nice chat with basic background/experience questions, some behavioral questions, and the typical 'why Sprout' question. The next step was a 45-minute phone interview with the hiring manager two weeks later because she was on PTO. This was a bad experience for me, and seems common from reviews. The hiring manager was curt, uninterested, and interrupted my answers. It felt uncomfortable, like she didn't care about my prepared answers. No rapport, no personality. Two days later, I got an automated rejection email. I found this really unprofessional after being in the process for a month and a half with two interviews. I expected a personal rejection from the hiring manager or HR. Thankfully, I had other offers, but I was surprised by how poor the experience was. Maybe other roles are better? The process for Customer Advocate needs fixing, especially the management involved in decisions.

So the interview process kicked off with a phone interview, and then after that, I had an in-person one. The phone chat was right on time and lasted about half an hour. The Talent Strategist I spoke with was super prepared and we had a good conversation. Then for the in-person part, I met with three main people from the team. One of those chats even included some Portuguese and Spanish, which makes sense for this role. Everyone I talked to took their time to see what I was good at and also told me stuff about the company.
