I applied online and then had a Zoom interview a couple of weeks later. After that, there was a second follow-up interview. Unfortunately, I never heard back from the company or the hiring manager about their decision, and my attempts to get an update were met with silence, leaving me ghosted.

The whole interview process was super quick and easy, from the very beginning to the end. The person interviewing me made sure it was a relaxed yet professional vibe, which really helped me to gather my thoughts, figure things out, and explain my points well. All in all, it was a great experience.

I went through 3 separate rounds of interviews. First, I spoke with the hiring front desk to confirm my interest. Then, I met with the manager I would report to. Finally, there was a 2-hour session where I met the entire team I would NOT be working with, but rather side groups, to gauge my fit as a person. Each of these was lengthy and took place on a different day over a few weeks. After all this, they ghosted me. No email, no call, nothing. I reached out to a couple of contacts there and heard nothing back. What a bad way to handle an interview process. I would not recommend applying here.

The initial HR chat was really good, Michael was super professional and nice. Then I met the hiring manager. I get that this isn't a tech company and there might be some cultural differences, but wow. For an hour, it felt like I was being attacked with questions about all the ways I could mess up. I mean, I've done a lot in my career, which is why they probably called me, but this guy just picked at my weaknesses and ignored my wins. He didn't say one nice thing. By the end, I was drained and totally confused when he grudgingly said he liked me enough to bring me back for more interviews. He even critiqued my eye contact like I was a teenager! I've lived with that my whole life and it's not changing for this job, especially since it pays less than my current gig with better perks. HR invited me back for a third interview, but I thanked them and declined. It was an easy no. I wouldn't work for that guy even for double the pay. Life's too short to work for someone so unfriendly. He's stuck in the past and doesn't realize that being difficult isn't a good recruitment strategy anymore. The job market is full of opportunities, and managers like him will only create a negative work environment. Maybe your recent turnover isn't just about the merger, but also about bad management and better options elsewhere. HR does a great job, but the exec didn't deliver.

  • How could you possibly fail in this role?
  • Do you think you need to improve your eye contact?
