Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SPMB.
Analyst
Had 3 rounds of interviews, with a test in between. It was a really good and quick process, and they gave me feedback at the end. I talked to people at different levels on the team, and they were all super smart, nice, and interested in getting to know me.
- What draws you to executive search?
Analyst
Had a 30 min standard behavioral phone screen. Then I had an onsite interview that was about 3 hours long. I met a bunch of people from different teams at the firm. The questions they asked were all behavioral. It felt like they already knew who they wanted and who wasn't a good fit for the company culture. I never heard back after the interview, which was kind of funny since the company is all about recruiting. I figured they would at least let me know one way or the other. But nope, I was left in the dark.
- How would you rank these 5 hypothetical candidates from best to worst for the xyz search?
Analyst
I applied online and had a phone screen with an Associate on the team. Then, I went in for an onsite interview with 4 members of the team, and each interview was about 30 minutes long. The interviews mostly consisted of questions about my past experiences and my interest in SPMB. They also asked me to do an exercise to identify companies that might have candidates for an active SMPB search. I never heard back after the interview, even though I tried to contact them.
